Transform Your Life with Breast Reduction

Some of our patients feel that if their breasts were reduced and brought into balance with the rest of their body, they would feel better about themselves, their clothes would fit better, and they could even participate in life in a brand new way. And in most cases, they’re correct!

What Breast Reduction Can Do For You

Reducing breast size is about more than just going smaller. Breast reduction can:

  • Help create a more flattering, proportionate look that better suits your body
  • Ease self-conscious feelings about your breast size
  • Improve related health concerns like persistent neck, back, and shoulder pain
  • Reduce the risk of ongoing skin irritation or infections associated with overly large breasts
  • Help physically active women feel more comfortable while exercising or during recreational activities

Dr. Meade typically combines the removal of excess breast tissue with a breast lift for breasts that are not only smaller but higher, firmer, and beautifully proportioned.

We know that selecting a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for your aesthetic surgery is an important decision. You have made a great choice by choosing Dr. Ricardo Meade for your aesthetic surgery consultation!

Preparing for Your Breast Reduction Surgery

As your surgery date approaches, Dr. Meade may request specific lab tests or medical evaluations, including a mammogram. You may also need to adjust current medications, vitamins, or supplements. It’s also recommended that you avoid consuming alcohol and drugs and abstain from smoking for a certain period before and after surgery.

What to Expect From the Breast Reduction Procedure

How Painful Is Breast Reduction?

You may feel sore and a pulling or stretching sensation for up to three weeks. Although you may need pain medicine for a week or two, you can expect to feel better and stronger (as well as lighter) each day. You may get tired more easily or have less energy than usual for a few weeks afterward. This is usually because your body works hard to recover and heal fully.

How Long Does A Breast Reduction Take?

The average breast reduction surgery takes between two and four hours to complete. Dr. Meade may be able to give you a better estimate of how long your particular procedure will take during your initial consultation.

Recovery and Results

Recovery after breast reduction surgery is different for every woman, but most patients are comfortable enough not to finish a prescription of 40 pain pills. You can generally expect a minimum of 3 to 5 days spent resting, followed by 10 to 14 days without strenuous physical exercise or activity. It’s important to avoid heavy lifting, especially over the head, and to follow Dr. Meade’s post-surgical instructions to the letter.

You should see an immediate difference in the size of your breasts and a noticeable improvement in related physical issues that overly large breasts may have caused. As swelling subsides and scars fade, your breast shape will look more natural, and you should enjoy long-term results.
