Thigh Lift: A Solution for Sagging Skin

Sagging skin, especially on your things, is a natural result of aging. This is because your body produces less collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin, which causes skin laxity. Cellulite is another common concern, creating a dimpled appearance on your thighs. Dr. Meade can help you address these issues with a thigh lift lasting up to ten years.

Preparing for Your Thigh Lift

The preparation and aftercare for all cosmetic procedures are equally important. They’re given so you can enjoy the best results that can last for many years to come, if not a lifetime.

To help facilitate the success of your surgery, Dr. Meade may ask the following of you:

  • To undergo a further medical examination and laboratory testing.
  • Adjust or cease medications and dietary supplements.
  • To quit smoking and consumption of alcohol and drugs.
  • Ensure you are well-hydrated, especially on the days leading up to your procedure.

The Thigh Lift Procedure

During an inner thigh lift, an incision is made where the thigh and pubic area meet. A wedge of skin and fat is then removed, and the skin is closed, leading to skin tightening, an improved leg contour, and enhanced skin elasticity.

A thigh lift is usually not very painful compared to some other procedures. Because your comfort is necessary, we try to reduce pain by filling the area full of short and long-acting local anesthetics during surgery.

Recovery and Results

Because of where your thigh lift incisions are placed, they may need extra time and attention to heal optimally. You should limit your activities for at least two weeks, and strenuous exercise should be avoided for another four. This is to ensure your thighs are fully healed. However, after two weeks, many patients return to work and light activities, wearing skirts and dresses to keep the incisions safe.
