Ahead of your breast augmentation, you may need to schedule a mammogram to establish a baseline and identify any irregularities. Once you’ve been cleared for surgery and are at our clinic, a member of our medical team will administer general anesthesia to ensure your comfort. During surgery, Dr. Meade will carefully make incisions underneath the breast to gently expand your existing tissues and insert your chosen implant, creating your new shape. All incisions will be closed with small sutures to promote smooth healing.

Patient-Centered, High-Touch Recovery

Recovery after your breast augmentation typically involves swelling, tenderness, and mild bruising along the chest, which should resolve within two weeks. You’ll need to wear a compressive surgical bra to support your healing tissues, reduce swelling, and protect your newly enhanced shape. Dr. Meade recommends at least four days of rest with minimal physical activity, and you should be able to return to light movement within two weeks. 

After your procedure, Dr. Meade will provide extensive aftercare instructions to support your healing. This list will include the following items:

How long will my implants last?

Implants are designed to be long-lasting, with many patients enjoying theirs for up to ten years. However, your implants will likely need a replacement or revision in the future to maintain your results.

Will I lose sensation after surgery?

Temporary changes in sensation around the breast and nipple are possible after a breast augmentation, but are not common. If you experience any loss of sensation, you should gradually regain sensitivity as you heal.

Can I breastfeed after a breast augmentation?
