Patient-Centered, High-Touch Recovery

Your recovery process will depend on the procedures included in your Mommy Makeover, but you can expect mild swelling, bruising, tenderness, or tightness for at least two weeks after surgery. You may need to wear compressive garments, such as a surgical bra, facial wrap, or abdominal bandage, to reduce swelling and support your healing tissues. Most patients can return to light activity, including walking, desk work, and social gatherings, within two weeks, but full recovery may take up to six weeks.  After your procedure, you’ll receive extensive aftercare instructions from Dr. Meade. This list will include the following items: 

  • Incision site care and cleaning protocols
  • Skin care and hair care recommendations
  • Hygiene guidelines
  • Sun protection and exposure requirements
  • Sleep position restrictions
  • Supportive garment guidance 
  • Activity limitations
  • Pain and swelling management strategies

You’ll return to our Dallas office several times over the coming weeks for follow-up appointments with Dr. Meade. There, he’ll monitor your healing progress, remove any remaining sutures, and clear you for strenuous activities, such as high-impact exercise, heavy lifting (including children), and running.
